Strong and sturdy desks are easy to find if you know where to look. You have to consider that a lot of desks today are hardly made of wood anymore due to the rarity of fine wood and the abundance of plastic-based material. Plastic desks are often chosen over wood ones because they are more affordable.
A majority of school desks are now made of plastic, some of them reinforced with a harder material like steel or iron. They can also last longer than wood desks which are prone to termites and water damage. Kids can also be brutal when using their school desks so they have to be sturdier than ever before.
Office desks on the other hand, are made form various material, ranging from plastic to wood to glass. Executive desks are crafted from wood material such as walnut or pine and varnished to give it a smooth sheen. Conference tables are commonly made of glass.
Glass desks are rare though and are not generally used as daily working space. Plastic office desks are more common, with the proliferation of computer tables that maximize the use of steel-reinforced plastic. Office desks can easily be customized to fit any type of space as well as provide maximum storage space for better organizational function.
